To summarise Taiwan as a tourist destination, I found that it was quite underrated with much mountainous and tropical paradise scenery, friendly locals, great food, and very interesting culture. I see Taiwan as an ideal destination for both family holidays and individual trips. It really has a lot on offer for all demographics.

In my case, travelling to Taiwan alone as an English speaker, a country that primarily speaks mandarin I did find it possible to get around relatively easily, although often whilst travelling down the east coast of Taiwan experienced much solidarity. This solidarity allowed me to observe many ways of life and experiences with only my own thoughts. I would say this was quite a growing experience for me. The trip was amazing, and the people I met along the way made it even better. I enjoyed the countless 7-Eleven trips for snacks and drinks, whilst I was freely driving around this foreign land.

Some of my key takeaways from this trip were faith in the kindness of individuals to help others, and a greater respect for the Taiwanese people.
