Today we were scheduled to visit Pisa. We left in the morning on the train from Florence to Pisa that took around 1 hour. It was again interesting to see the different landscapes we were travelling past.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

Arriving in Pisa we walked around 30 minutes to the area where the tower and other monuments are. Can confirm, that it really is leaning, however, we were all a little underwhelmed by the size of the tower.
Whilst waiting to climb the tower, we walked around taking photos and drinking espresso.

Climbing the tower

Climbing the tower was quite tiring, but interesting because as we spiraled our way up the steps, the angle we were walking would change as we changed sides of the tower. The stairs themselves were marble steps, which were very worn down from the many tourists traveling up and down them every day. As would be expected, the view from the top of the tower was pretty good. We were able to see all around Pisa as well as the mountains on one side.

After climbing the tower, we had some pizza and pasta for lunch at a local restaurant before making the journey back to Florence where we had more pizza and pasta for dinner.
