Visiting the Louvre
We walked to the Louvre taking many photos of the outside of the building. At this point, we also caught our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower glistening in the night sky. We had to line up for around one hour to get inside. Walking around the gallery, which is the biggest museum in the world, it was very easy to get lost. We tried to do an audio tour which we had downloaded but it was too difficult to follow as the starting point was closed off temporarily. Instead, we resulted to walking around trying to find some of the most famous pieces.
We were able to find the Mona Lisa, walking past countless impressive paintings and sculptures. Oliver and I left Trevor to browse the art for a while to try and complete one lap of the entire museum. In the roughly 2 hours we were there, we were only able to quickly visit around half of one of the floors and even found ourselves lost going around in circles trying to find our way back to the entrance of the Louvre to meet back up with Trevor.
The Louvre was very impressive and there are undoubtedly a lot of great artworks there. Personally, however, I feel a bit like a sheep in large crowds like this, which kind of takes away from the enjoyment for me.
