Batu Caves
Today is effectively a sightseeing day. In the morning, we all boarded the bus to head for Batu Caves. It was really hot outside, when we arrived and got off the bus I instantly felt like I was a snowman in a desert. After getting in a group photo, I began the ascent up the stairs of the caves. Our guide was trying to tell me to zig-zag upwards as this supposedly makes it easier, however, I just wanted to go fast to be out of the heat sooner, so I proceeded to race up the steps skipping every second stair. The inside of the caves was interesting, although nothing new to me. After reaching the top and taking some photos, I descended the stairs again and took a quick drone shot from the ground of the caves.
Bukit Melawati
After the caves, we continued our journey and visited a place called Bukit Melawat which was essentially an old fort which was covered in Monkeys. To get up there we took a ride on the trailer connected to the back of a tractor. There was a nice view from the top of the fort, and it was cool to see all the monkeys. There were people selling food for the monkeys up the top. I did not buy any, but our guide did say that apparently, those people on average make more than some doctors in Malaysia just by selling food for the monkeys.
Dinner by the Selangor River
We next went and visited a restaurant on the side of the Selangor River. This was a seafood restaurant, the kind where they kept the food live in tanks before butchering it on orders from customers. We had an amazing selection of seafood for our dinner including prawns, fish, muscles, and crab. I was able to show off my amazing crab-eating skills showering myself and those sitting around me with crab juices.
Fireflies tour
After dinner, we boarded a boat along the Selangor River to look at some fireflies that fly along certain parts of the river in the scrubs. It was similar to other fireflies I have seen but still interesting, and I was even able to get some pictures of them despite the guide telling us not to bother because you need a really advanced camera to take pictures of them.
