Going to the Photoshoot
After breakfast, we caught the MRT to Bukchon to visit a place called Sihyunhada Photo Studio where we had a booking to get some professional photos taken. Korea is well known for its professional photo studios, so we decided to visit one here. The streets near the photo studio were rather interesting, lined with many traditional Korean houses. The building where we had our photos taken was also rather interesting. Their service was very professional, and I think the photos that both Angie and I had taken were very good.
After the photoshoot, we walked around the Bukchon area for a little while, looking through the windows of many shops. I bought a Korean egg cake which was somewhere between sweet and savoury, but still delicious. After this, we walked to a nearby teahouse and had some rather fancy tea while we waited for our lunch booking.
Omakase Sushi for lunch
After the tea house, we had a booking at an Omakase sushi restaurant. At this restaurant, we sat around a table with a Japanese chef in the middle. He cut up many different types of fish in front of us and made them into many types of sushi. They were all delicious, but I think my personal favorite was the snapper sushi.
Visiting Itaewon
After lunch, we took the MRT to the Itaewon area to do some shopping and more exploring. I had been feeling quite cold since I was still yet to purchase some more appropriate clothing, so we started by visiting the North Face store where I bought a new jacket, some pants, and earmuffs. Since it was getting as low as -3 degrees Celsius outside, I decided to wear my new clothes out of the store, feeling much warmer than before.
We next walked around and came across another photobooth store called ‘Don’t Lxxk Up’. We took some very trendy photos in this photo booth. Seems like Korea has many photo booths. After this, we went to a nearby café for a coffee. This was an Italian-styled coffee shop, and the coffee was decent although it’s hard to reach my Melbournian coffee standards.
Going to Jacks bar and Korean fusion restaurant
Since our dinner booking was at 8 PM in a restaurant nearby, we continued to walk around stopping by an Olive Young store which is a famous store for health products in Korea. They had quite an unbelievable number of kinds of health products all specialised for different uses such as hair products, face skin care products, foot care products, etc. After this, we went to a nearby bar for a drink and to play some of the arcade games which were unusually free to play.
At 8 PM, we went to our dinner booking at a Korean fusion restaurant called Refine. While walking there, it started to lightly snow – illustrating how cold it was. At the restaurant, we had beef tartar and a spicy Korean soup. It was very delicious.
