Today we were originally planning on going to the Great Wall of China, but decided to delay this to another day and rest for the day as the previous day was quite a big day for us all. Rather, after leaving Angie’s aunt and uncle’s countryside house, we went back to the hotel to rest for some time. Something interesting though, is that on the way we went to KFC, and I discovered that the KFC in China sells a mala crayfish burger. I like mala crayfish, but I did not quite feel up to trying a mala crayfish burger from a fast-food restaurant for breakfast. Back at the hotel, I spent most of the day catching up on my blog.

Fancy dinner

In the evening, we went to a fancy restaurant in Beijing for dinner with Angie’s aunt and uncle’s family and one of her client’s family. This was a unique experience in a private room featuring a large round table with a giant lazy-Susan in the centre with lobster, Beijing Peking duck, fish, and many other fancy dishes. I also had Moutai (the most famous Baijiu) with Angie’s uncle and his client. I did not take many photos as I felt it would have been inappropriate in this setting however I had a very special experience with some learnings I can share with my family. I did take one photo of the chef preparing the Beijing Peking duck (烤鸭).
