Today we went to visit Sentosa Island. Before leaving we walked around the nearby China Town markets to look at some souvenirs, before going to get a rather late brunch. Our brunch was at a place called Song Fa. As shown in the photo, we enjoyed a fulfilling breakfast with fish and pork soup, fried chicken, Chinese donut, tofu, and eggs. I also had a beer with the meal which was quite nice. Overall, the meal was delicious.
After eating we called a Grab to Sentosa island. The drive to Sentosa was quite scenic, passing by the docks where the many ships that visit Singapore load and unload.
Cable car to Mount Faber
When we arrived at Sentosa we decided since it was hot, the best way to take in the views was to buy tickets for the cable cars. There is one cable car that goes back across the water towards a mountain called Mount Faber. After buying our tickets, we boarded the cable car to the mountain. The ride itself was quite interesting, traveling up really high over the resorts on the island, and a cruise ship in the water between the mainland and Sentosa. The cable car also passed through a building before continuing the rest of the way up to the mountain.
When we arrived on the mountain, we decided to have some iced coffee at the café whilst sitting and taking in the view through the window back towards the island.
We then went on a walk up towards the peak of the mountain, which was hot. The view was nice with the city on one side and the island/forest on the other side. I was able to fly my drone and take some small videos from this location. After this, we took the cable car back down to Sentosa Island.
Cable car across Sentosa
Next, we took a cable car across the island, over the trees, taking in the views of the beaches and all the ships in the nearby sea. This was a nice way to take in the views of the island without walking around in the heat. When we arrived at the cable car’s destination, we walked around the nearby beach. We were initially planning to swim there but decided it was too hot and would be better to just swim in the hotel pool later. It was still nice to walk along the beach despite being very hot. After catching this cable car back to the centre of the island, we caught a Grab back to our hotel.
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed cooling off in the pool and a quick gym session whilst doing some clothes washing.
Clarke Quay nightlife
In the evening, we out for a late dinner. We walked around Chinatown for a little while to try to find some nice street market stalls to eat, but we left it a bit late so most of them were closed. In the end, we decided to go back to the Jumbo seafood restaurant in Clarke Quay. This time instead of chili crab, we had some Mee Goreng noodles, and other seafood dishes which were all very delicious and fulfilling.
After dinner, we decided we would go out to a nearby bar for some drinks. We went to a bar called Chupitos which was quite fun.
