In the morning I met up with a local friend who took me to one of the icon chain bubble tea restaurants around Taiwan called Chun Shui Tang where we ate chicken feet and a spicy tofu soup for breakfast with some nice, not too sweet bubble tea. We then drove to the mountain close to Zhongshan university to look at the many ships in the sea waiting to come into the port. The view was amazing, but it was so hot.

Crushed Ice

One of the iconic must-try foods in Taiwan is shaved ice. After driving around the mountain, we went to a crushed ice café and had some fruit shaved ice. It was so refreshing with the flavours from the fruit being soaked up by the shaved ice.

Barbeque with some Taiwanese Locals

In the afternoon, I went in my friend’s car to the barbeque. We picked up many people on the way and stopped at a local supermarket to buy some supplies for the barbeque. I was surprised when they filled a shopping trolly with different meats and drinks for the barbeque and doubly surprised to see that it only cost around $200 AUD for all the meat and drinks they bought. Sadly, I was having too much fun and forgot to take photos but at the barbeque, they cooked on a grill suspended over some coal briquettes with many different delicious foods including beef, seafood, some vegetables, etc.

After the barbeque, I headed to a new hotel in Kaohsiung to get some rest before leaving the city the next day.
