My final day in Taiwan.

Din Tai Fung

Earlier in the trip, an old work colleague of mine, Davidson, had contacted me after he realised, I was in Taiwan. Turns out, he had moved to study in Taiwan. Today, our schedules finally aligned so we could go to the famous Din Tai Fung for a meal together. We ate many delicious xiao long bao, and some red bean desert xiao long bao. I had been meaning to go to Din Tai Fung since I had got to Taiwan but had not gotten around to it. It was great to meet up with an old friend who had some local knowledge to share this experience with. After the meal we chatted for a while about Taiwan, and what it is like to study in Taiwan before parting ways.

Going to the Top of Taipei 101

Since the weather was a little better than previous days, and it was my last chance to do so, I went back to Taipei 101 and purchased a ticket to go up to the top floors and look at the views. I always remember when I was a kid, watching engineering television shows that talked about the engineering feat that this building is. I remember learning about the large, suspended ball that is used to negate the effects of earthquakes. Seeing the ball in person felt so surreal. I had a look around at the top for a while, admiring the views of the Taipei. While it was a little on the pricier side, I recommend everyone who comes to Taiwan experiences this view at least once. Just make sure to pick a clear day for the best views.
