Today was our main day for sightseeing in Venice. In the morning, we went to a café for breakfast where I had bruschetta. During breakfast, we were quick to realize that it was no longer shorts and t-shirt weather, so we were quick to change into warmer clothes before heading back out to see some sites. We walked around the Rialto bridge taking photos of the canals, bridges, and boats. I observed that Venice would be a whole lot more exciting if I had more money to burn as there were many shops selling nice clothing and other trinkets.

For lunch, we decided to try to save some money and cook our own. We purchased some ravioli and pasta sauce from the supermarket to cook which meant we only spent around $15 each on the meal. This is much cheaper than the 30-40 euros we have been spending on every other meal.

I found Venice overall quite interesting and unique, although compared to Rome there are probably fewer things to see.

Gondola ride

Later, around 4:30 pm, we were scheduled to have a gondola ride. It was quite enjoyable and relaxing drifting through the water-filled streets on a boat with no loud engine noises. We were able to get lots of nice photos of the canals and open waters on this gondola ride.

After the gondola ride, we ended the night with some more spritz and spaghetti bolognese for dinner.
