Today was our one free day to try tick off some activities in and around the city of Interlaken. In the morning I spent around 2 hours at a local gym trying to catch up on my workout routine to maintain my progress. This gym was quite nice, costing me around 20 CHF for a day pass. It was mostly empty almost the entire time I was there.

Harder Kulm

After getting back to our cottage, we decided to go take the train up to Harder Kulm. The train was extremely steep going up the mountain to the lookout up the top. Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy so we could not really get a good view of the two lakes from this point, but we were able to enjoy some fondue and mulled wine in the restaurant at the top.

Short Hike

After heading back down from Harder Kulm, we decided to do a bit of a walk which was right behind our accommodation. It was slightly raining, but I really wanted to try fly my drone up to try get some shots of the lakes that surround the town of Interlaken – giving the town its name. After hiking to the top of the hill, taking in the views for a bit, and heading back down to a more open area, we finally got a break in the weather enough for me to fly my drone up and capture the two lakes from a height of around 60 meters from where we were standing. I was ecstatic that I could get this shot as we had missed out on seeing the two lakes earlier due to the clouds. I had also put in a bit of research into the local drone laws which were quite strict, so I was glad to be able to put that research to use and lawfully fly my 249g drone with the registration number handwritten on a band-aid that I stuck on the drone to meet the local requirements.
