Today we started the day around 9am. After leaving the hotel, a little tired, we went to get some breakfast from Ya Kun Kaya Toast which was soft boiled eggs, sweet, buttered bread, French toast with Kaya sauce, and milk tea. It was a simple but very satisfying, refreshing breakfast.
After breakfast we decided to go walk around the Singapore river and Clark Quay to leisurely gain some perspective on the area we are staying.

Since it was raining, we decided to continue exploring our surrounding by going to the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall. We did some browsing there, and Angie bought some clothes from Lululemon. We then took some photos on the lake side of the mall.

Meeting up with my university friend

Before this trip, I had a discussion with one of my friends from university who lives close to Singapore and previously lived in Singapore about meeting up during the trip. He texted me while we were at Marina Bay Sands to meet at a Yum Cha place called Swee Choon. Angie and I took the metro there which was quite convenient, and we were able to enjoy some delicious Yum Cha for lunch together consisting of xiao long bao, prawn dumplings, drunken chicken, chicken feet, and other delicious Cantonese small dishes. My friend also provided us with a list of recommendations of other places in Singapore to visit which I am very grateful for. After having lunch and chatting for a while, we headed back to the MRT to get some ice cream from Marina Bay before heading back to our hotel to get some rest.

Visiting Gardens by the Bay

After getting some rest we went back to Marina Bay to walk around the Gardens by the Bay. The light was starting to fade so we were able to take some nice photos of the Gardens and surrounding areas. There was a Christmas event inside the gardens, but we decided against paying to enter the event.

Singapore Chilli Crab

After visiting the Gardens by the Bay, we caught the MRT back to the Clark Quay area to enjoy some famous Singaporean chilli crab from Jumbo Seafood. This is the same chain of restaurants, although a different location, I visited last time I ate chilli crab in Singapore 2 years ago. This time I was much better at eating it, focussing less on table manors and more on making sure that no part of the delicious crab was wasted. After dinner, we walked around Clark Quay some more and had some drinks at one of the bars before returning home. The area seems quite lively, but tonight we were too tired to stay out late.
