Seongsu
After the gym, we went to an area called Seongsu. Seongsu is a former industrial area that has been transformed into a trendier area with many cafes and stores. After arriving in Sengsu via the MRT, we went to a restaurant that Angie had booked for a late breakfast/lunch. The building the restaurant was inside looked quite normal from the outside, but inside it was quite interesting with an indoor waterfall, pond, and garden. We ordered tteokbokki and beef pasta which were both very tasty. I also had a very refreshing grapefruit lemonade.
After our brunch, we walked to one of the main streets in Seongsu. I was expecting it would be busy, but it seemed that not many people were there. We went to a café for a coffee and a cake each. We sat there for a while relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere.
National Assembly Building and another Hyundai mall
After leaving the café we caught the MRT to the area where the National Assembly Building is. We were able to take some photos of the building before walking towards another Hyundai mall. We walked through a park where people were taking hot air balloon rides on the way. The park also had a military plane which had some information but it was all in Korean, so I am not sure of its significance. This is one thing I noticed is that often in Korea there is no English information available. When we reached the mall we walked around window shopping.
Celebrating New Years Eve
At night Angie and I went out to welcome 2025 together. Before going we had some delivered fried chicken and cheese hotdogs at home. We went to an area called Sinsa in the Gangnam district (close to the area referred to in the popular song Gangnam Style). We enjoyed some more tteokbokki and drinks together celebrating the end of 2024.
